Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church on St. John, VI weds Emily and Tim
Emily and Tim
What is your definition of a family? To quote Desmond Tutu, “You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them.”
A family begins with two, and if they are blessed, that family intertwines itself to the roots much like those of Emily and Tim’s tree of matrimony.
After celebrating your wedding, one thing stood out. You came here to this beautiful island of St. John USVI to create a special memory of your union. However, I don’t know how or when it started, but your vows to love, and cherish one another extended itself to more than what you two came here to perform.
From your ceremony site of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, through the streets of Cruz bay, off to the beautiful white sandy beach of Trunk bay, and ending at the Westin Resort – your love for one another and your family, was only surpassed by how very much all of your family and friends care and love the both of you.
Emily and Tim, you brought a bonus of love – a gathering of hands, a family of parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews – friends. To have family is to be loved. Your dedication to one another, and your family was truly evident at your pre-ceremony diner at the beautiful Asolare restaurant overlooking Cruz bay, St. John.
Your selflessness and dedication to ensure that everyone was having a wonderful time, is a testament to a trait that is very uncommon. How refreshing it was to have witnessed these beautiful acts of LOVE. You were more than elated to host your family by making sure they felt the same warmth in their hearts as you two had in yours.
Family roots run deep. Generations instill a sense of forever. It was clear that this marriage was a family affair from the beginning. Together forever and never to part.
May you continue to find that a home is a home where family keeps and shares love. It began with two, but because of you – It grew.
